Where do Babies Come From?
(And Other Questions Kids Ask)

July 13: “Where Do Babies Come From?” - Psalm 127
The Bible says: “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” Babies come from God, and like all gifts, God will hold us accountable for how we treat them, what we do with them and for them, and what we fail to do for them.

July 20: “Where is God?” - Colossians 2:6-12
God is everywhere, and as Christians it is our responsibility to use life situations to teach the Biblical world view and bring God into the everyday world of our children.

July 27: “Are We There Yet?” Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Proverbs 22:6 - How many times have you heard those words from kids as you travel together? In our spiritual faith journeys, we may find ourselves asking the same question. Unfortunately, we won’t know if we’re there if we’re not sure of where we are going.  Raising up spiritual leaders is a job that requires the Church and the family to partner together so that we can set our compasses on the True North of Jesus Christ and allow God’s Positioning System to get us to the goal of living as faithful disciples.

Weekly Devotions - July 20, 2008

Our hearts are blessed as we gather before You today O Lord, for You have given us freedom from all our transgressions and joy in exchange for heavy hearts. You are the refuge we seek when we are troubled and the courage we need when we venture into our days. Bless us today with Your steadfast love as we declare our trust in You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Worship Times

Worship is the most important ministry of our church, for worship defines who we are, and whose we are. Our Sunday morning services are a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, offering a powerful message of hope. All are welcome and encouraged to worship the Living Christ. -

8:00 a.m. - Traditional Communion Service

9:15 a.m. Traditional Service

10:45 a.m. Contemporary (G.A.P.) Service

Our G.A.P. (Glory and Praise) service features the very same message as the Traditional Service with a more informal atmosphere, contemporary Christian music, and a praise band.

Communion Services
10:20 a.m. - This Communion Service takes place every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month when Communion is served during the main worship services. There will be no communion in the Chapel during the months of June and July. This service will resume on Sunday, August 10.

Sunday School

Sunday School at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. for all ages (see the Children's, Youth, and Adult Ministries pages for more information). There will be no K-5th grade Sunday School during the month of July. We encourage you to bring your children to worship for our family oriented sermon series.

At Living Word, our Sunday School program is well organized and well attended! Children and youth attend classes corresponding to their age or grade level.
